Quickly Analyze Reports
Factview provides several tools for performing quick analyses directly within a report.

Click an amount to open a detail pop-up showing the underlying transactions.

Analyze data by dimensions such as Cost Center, General Ledger Account, or Period.
You can also:

Use the Dimension button to filter the report (for example, Cost Center 5000).

Use the Columns button to display totals by period.
This allows you to:

View a complete Profit and Loss Statement for a single Cost Center.

Compare Actuals and Budget side by side.
System Values
Factview uses several standard system calculations:
-
SYSRESULTAAT = Sum of all Balance Sheet (BAS) general ledger accounts.
-
SYSWINST = Sum of all Profit & Loss (PNL) general ledger accounts.
These values are used throughout Factview in reports and calculations.
Customizing Report Structures (for Example, an EBIT Report)
When creating a custom report, such as an EBIT Report, it is often necessary to rename report groups to match the desired presentation.
Rename Groups
Renaming a Group
To rename a group:

Select the group in the Structure panel.

Right-click the group.

Select Edit.
-
Change the name.
-
Press Enter to save the change.
Faster Method

Select the group.
-
Press F2.
-
Edit the name.
Align the Structure with the Standard Structure
When creating a report such as an EBIT Report:

Use the group names from the Standard Structure.

Keep naming conventions consistent.
-
Reuse existing layouts and categories (for example, revenue groups).
This results in:

More recognizable reports.
-
Better consistency with standard reports.
-
Fewer interpretation errors.
